Connections over coffee: Fully-funded networking breakfast unites Brecon’s entrepreneurs

The first in a series of enterprise support and networking events across Powys has been hailed a huge success as a new funded project is rolled out in the county.

A free Brecon-based networking breakfast saw 40 entrepreneurs join together for a morning of delicious food, coffee and inspiring conversations earlier this month, with many already booked in for next month’s event.

The event was hosted by small business specialist Town Square Spaces (TownSq) in Arabella’s in Brecon as part of an initiative funded by the UK Government Levelling Up Project through the Shared Prosperity Fund and backed by Powys County Council. The project will aim to support, grow and develop businesses and entrepreneurs across Powys through a number of events which will give them the opportunity to make valuable connections with like-minded people, grow their network and showcase their business on the local stage.

Attendees to these events will also be able to get information on business support available at TownSq which could potentially take their enterprise to the next level.

TownSq’s Commercial Director Kevin Mansell-Abell said: “We’re delighted with the turnout to our first networking morning in Brecon. It was fantastic to see so many local business owners chatting, exchanging ideas and exploring how they could work together.

“The response to next month’s breakfast event has been so overwhelming that we’re having to find a new venue to host a larger group – a great problem to have! Our attendees are also being given the chance to access the brand new Brecon Expo we’re holding in April, so we’re optimistic that a much more close-knit business community will develop in the area as a result of this new initiative.

“We also hope that a more active and connected local enterprise network will give Powys’ economy and commerce scene a boost as more businesses are able to thrive and support one another through collaboration and trade.”

The next Brecon networking breakfast event will be held at Ty Helyg Guest House on Friday 15 March at 9am. Tickets are free and allocated on a first come first served basis. You can reserve yours here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/816428608947?aff=oddtdtcreator
